Explain.Chief Executive Stråberg broke down barriers and increased communication between departments by creating one large formal task group (Ivancevich and Konopaske, 2014, p. 271) comprised of his designers, engineers, marketers, executives from Proctor and Gamble and Pepsi Co. working together to share ideas and come up with new products. Electrolux was faced with spiraling costs, outside threat from major market competitor Whirlpool Corp., and decreasing stock. With change, it is dangerous for an organization to lack vision and have no clue on what directives to take when looming failure is plausible. Chief Executive Stråberg essentially breathed life into a failing Electrolux, which until his arrival, employees focused solely on individual tasks and disjointed department goals.
