Unformatted text preview: Notes 1/18/08 Composition: Writing, Images, Music, Video, Audio, Animation, etc. The term Composition is for the whole thing that you are working on. It’s not just writing alone. Before you start writing you must do audience and purpose assessment. When you do scientific writing you are writing for a variety of purposes. Establishing a context is the way that you put your thoughts together. It is also how you create meaning. It’s the framework of your composition: “the architecture” – how you place things, how you organize them. You can infer what your audience needs to know and what they already know. Interviewing strategies: You have to engage the person you’re interviewing by asking follow up questions and getting them interested. You have to follow the line of inquiry after you interview them. It’s improper to do question after question after question. It’s a conversation. Show them....
