2 Types of Data Model 1. Georelational data model -stores spatial and attribute data separately - a unique feature ID links the two - two data sets must be synchronized 2. Object Oriented Data Model - combines both spatial and attribute data in a single database - each map feature has a unique Object ID and an attribute to store its geometry - synchronization is not necessary
