Part 1 of yourrelates to meeting thelearning outcome 1 and partly learning outcome 2. Part 2 is related to meeting the learningoutcomes 2, 3 and 4 (see below for guidance)Theme, Context and Scenario:As a Research Assistant employed at a large travel and tourism organisation in the country, youare assigned to investigate a relevant topic related to the post-pandemic crisis managementstrategies and impacts in your establishment. In this regard, you are expected to undertake athorough research under theCrisis Managementtheme. YourResearch Proposal, therefore, should be based on a realistic research topic under the theme ofCrisis Managementin the Traveland Tourism Industry. Your investigation will consist of both primary and secondary research.Crisis management is not simply about reacting to crisis situations with knee-jerk and unplannedactions but may require careful planning and measured responses. Some of the impacts of thecrises could be even managed or mitigated if the management were to proactively formulatestrategic responses. COVID 19 has been, however, an unexpected pandemic with anunpredictable impact on the businesses, particularly on the service-based operations such as thetravel and tourism industry. The idea of managing crisis in such situations is much wider inperspectives, and not simply about managing the resources effectively in an organisation. Thelearners in this unit, therefore, see their research questions emerging from such topics as:The travel and tourism sector response to Covid-19 and crisis management practicesIs the travel and tourism sector ready for a new reality? Planning for a post-crisis worldThe importance of managing crisis in the travel and tourism sector
