Although similarities would be the mouths are both open, not extremely fierce. Also shown lion from Assurnasirpal, very realistic and muscular mouth is also open, fierce. Another orthostate, a close ranged hunting scene. Stylized, geometric details. Bull men holding a winged sun disk. They look out directly to the audience. Smaller orthostates… individual scenes, not cohesive, no story. Figure with wings, similar to the Assyrian Genii. Another with a griffin. Shown by the pair from Heralds wall at Carchemish. Similar ear and beaks. Then shown with the Assyrian griffin and have similar hair and pose. Sphinx similar to the three headed sphinx from Carchemish One with animals playing music and doing other things, fables? Compared to the image from the lyre....
