The main purpose of the experiment was to found out an unknown solution with the help of group1 cations Ag+,Cu2+,Pb2+ . For this, first we have to separate and identify group 1 cations Ag+,Cu2+,Pb2+ . We did this experiment in four steps. Transfer 15 drops of the solution mixture of Ag+,Cu2+,Pb2+ ions into a test tube and add 2 drops of 6MHCl to get complete precipitation. Centrifuge this test tube and another same size test tube with distilled water as same volume of precipitate for two minutes. Repeat the procedure to get complete precipitation. We kept the precipitation and discard the supernatant liquid. Precipitation shows the presence of AgCl,H g2Cl2,∧PbCl2.First step was to separate and conform the Pb2+presence. For this add 2mLof distilled water to the precipitate in the test tube. Give hot water
