What events in Europe, between 1936 and 1939 facilitated the beginning of the WWII (what, when, where)? Mussolini first conquered the African nation of Abyssinia and then seized Albania in April 1939. Hitler broke the Treaty of Versailles by increasing the size of the Germany's military, and remilitarized the Rhineland ( 1936 March 7) . 1936 Hitler ordered his troops to enter into an industrial part of Germany called Ruhr land. Spanish Civil war July 17, 1936 to April 1, 1939, ending with the victory of the rebels and the founding of a dictatorship led by the Nationalist General Francisco Franco. Countries used this war to test new military weapons and tactics. 1936 Germany + Italy + Japan made an Anti-Comintern Pact directed against the policies of Soviet government and communist parties in the world Hitler wanted Sudentenland in Czech which led to the Munich Agreement in Sept. 30, 1938. Britain, France, and Italy granted Czechoslovakia's Sudetenland to Hitler to avoid war; in exchange for Germany making no further territorial claims in Europe. August 21 1939-- Germany & Soviet Union signed German Soviet Non Aggression Pact it was september 1 1939 that Germany attacked Poland. and the 3rd britain and farance decalred war on Germany 3. What was the position of Japan on the eve of the WWII? Japan had problems rooted in that they have no natural resources so they have to take it from somewhere. ¯ The problem was--you cannot do anything fast. You MUST prepare. This is a long process. The choices go deeper into the directions • Two directions were offered in Japan for the future attack . To move in china--they occupied part of china in the 30s. They wanted to move further into China into the Soviet Union.
