Bone Dynamics and Tissue To complete this worksheet, select: Module: Support and Movement Activity: Animations Title: Bone Dynamics and Tissue Introduction 1. Why is bone tissue called dynamic? Its constantly engaging in the process ofbreaking down, building and rebuilding. 2.Describe the process and timing of bone remodeling. Bone remodeling occurs atdifferent rates throughout the skeleton and renews bone tissue before it deteriorates. 3. How does remodeling change bone structure in response to slight and heavy stress? 4. a. Describe the composition of bone matrix. Include the importance ofcollagen fibers and inorganic mineral salts such a calcium phosphate (alsoknown as hydroxyapatite). Bone matrix is composed of connective tissue that is hardyet flexible due to collagen fibers running through the matrix, the hardnessis a result of inorganic mineral salts (calcium phosphate), together thecalcium and salts work tougher to increase tensile strength.
