Name: _____________________________ M342, Fall 2007 Final Examination – Open Notes – Open Book – Toots is a chain of mid-sized department stores on the East Coast. They are not big enough to compete in major metropolitan areas and instead focus on meeting the needs of their low to middle income clientele who reside primarily in towns and small cities. Over the last year, the growth that Toots had been experiencing stopped. Management was not sure whether this was due to local problems in the economy or if their customers were becoming dissatisfied with Toots’ operations. To assess the cause of the change in their fortunes, Toots’ marketing VP decided to administer a questionnaire to a random sample of 1000 customers . The survey was administered and 450 questionnaires were returned , a fabulous response rate considering the fact that only a $5.00 gift certificate was offered as an incentive. The questionnaire centered on issues of satisfaction and perceived performance. Some demographic questions were also asked. A summary of the variables in the study is found in the coding sheet at the end of this exam. The responses for variables PERF_2 to PERF_20 follow the coding of variable PERF_1. PAY PARTICULAR ATTENTION TO HOW ALL OF THE VARIABLES IN THE STUDY ARE CODED. For some variables, a high value may express a positive attitude. For other variables, a high value may express a negative attitude. Data for the exam is on the diskette you have been given. Evaluate the data in Exam2.sav to answer the following questions .
