Neil Mahoney Discussion Section # 14739 Lecture Assignment #5 1. What type of change process would you call this? Participation change is used in this process because it is difficult for individuals to resist a change decision in which they participated; but it just not about the individual. There also needs to be strong presence of involvement throughout the organization with little to no resistance to the change. When the company come together as a whole, the subject matter experts can do their job to change the system to what they believe is right for the company. When GE empowers the employees to control their regulations and guidelines, it boosts morale and drives passion into their work. The new self-empowering employees are more likely to become dedicated to the success of their departments through increased productivity. The overall factor in this system relies on self-motivation to improve the current situations. 2.
