Elizabeth Mishler February 27, 2008 Professor Goodman Journalism 11A Word Count: 361 JNL11ASHOOT27: Last Tuesday, November 8, at 11:45 am, a bank robbery attempt was made at the Union Credit One bank on Palm Grove Dr. in Chucktown. The suspect in the case, David Jefferson drew a sawed off shotgun at Officer Elliot A. Mess, an undercover agent of the Tamoon Police Department, in the parking lot of the bank. Officer Mess, in turn, drew his pistol on Jefferson and fired three shots. Police immediately arrived on the scene and arrested Jefferson. Police also found 3.02 ounces of marijuana on his person. The police report Jefferson was hit twice by bullets once in his left-shoulder and once in his right thigh. He was taken by ambulance to Mercy Hospital, where he was treated for gunshot wounds. Jefferson was charged with unlawful use of a fire-arm, assault with a deadly weapon, assault on a police officer, attempted murder, and possession of an illegal substance. He has served time in jail prior to this for assault.
