2 ARDNAK’S HONDO EPA SITUATION Ardnak’s Hondo EPA Situation Ardnak plants are required to work with in EPA guidelines just the same as any other plant in the United States. These rules and regulations are put in place by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to ultimately protect the environment and reduce and/or minimize our carbon footprint. Emissions into the environment are damaging in many ways including adding to the greenhouse effect, for example (Halbert 2014). With constant testing done by EPA comes the never ending battles between right and wrong, profit vs fines and honesty vs cutting corners. Ardnak’s Hondo plant has been running above EPA guidelines and are being threatened with fines if the excessive emissions were not up to par come next evaluation. George Mackee, plant manager, is faced with quite the dilemma; meet EPA standards by any means necessary or loose the plant to relocation in Mexico. Those at stake in this case are obvious but many. “Bill”, plant owner, runs the risk of paying fines due to unacceptable emissions from his Hondo plant. The Ardnak plant is a large source of income for nearly the entire City of Hondo, if the plant is relocated to Mexico the unemployment rate will jump dramatically leaving many of Hondo’s families out of work; this includes George and his family as well. This being said, the city as a whole becomes a large stakeholder in this case. Aside from losing his job, George will feel incredible amounts of guilt at the loss of his friends and extended families positions with Ardnak.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
