Financial accounting concepts, basicprocedures, and the resulting reports. Recognition and creation of accounting information as bases fordecisions.Student Learning OutcomesThe primary objective of this course is to help students understand how accounting meets theinformation needs of various users by developing and communicating information that is useful fordecision-making. This course introduces students to basic financial accounting concepts, financialstatement preparation, and analysis.Specific learning outcomes for students in this course include:1. Being able to identify the users and uses of financial statements and determine the relationshipamong the four financial statements.2. Being able to define elements of financial statements and determine how business transactionsaffect the accounting equation and the financial statements.3. Being able to describe the accounting cycle, construct journal entries, prepare basic financialstatements, and compute basic financial ratios.4.
