Assume each person pulls with force F , then the force applied on the spring when attached to the wall is 2 F , while in the second part the force is only F . Therefore the spring stretch more in the first situation. 3. (a) The velocity is zero when the shadow reaches left and right endpoint where the x component of the velocity of the ball is zero. (b) The acceleration is zero when the shadow is at the center point ( x = 0) where the x component of the acceleration of the ball is zero. 4.
