CONCEPTS OF EPIDEMIOLOGY IN DISEASE CONTROL ANDPREVENTIONIntroduction:Epidemiology is the fundamental science in public health. It involves the knowledge of probability, statistics, and other research methods related to the health of the public. In health system epidemiology is considered as the basic tool for the promotion of public health and protect them from different lethal diseases. For example, Hepatitis B is a worldwide disease and cause a number of complications. In this assessment I will provide you the implications of epidemiological triangle and the role of the community health nurse to address the disease. Epidemiological triangle is a way to view any disease related to its three factors that are the leading cause of disease. In hepatitis B we have three major factors, including susceptible host, a causative agent, and the environment. The disease occurs only in the presence of these three factors. Any change to these factors disrupts the transfer of the virus and no illness occur.
