The gas plant is both major polluter and largest regional employer. There are no easy fixes.Taiga: Coniferous (evergreen) forest zone. Also known as boreal forest. In East Siberia, site of timber poaching for China.Permafrost: Cold-climate condition in which the ground remains permanently frozen. This greatly affects soil types.Kamchatka Peninsula: Volcanoes (World Heritage Site). Military installation, known for this especially during Soviet era. High-latitude continental climate.Hard, cold winters. Because it is so cold, agricultural potential isnt great across region.Severe seasonal temperature extremes.Marginal agricultural potential.Population and settlement-About 200 million people, much less than Europe.-Ukraine has second most people to Russia.-Mostly urban....
