Lesson 1 Brian Zalac As the manager for a company here in Michigan, if I had an employee that I wanted to terminate their employment with my company, I would first investigate the federal employment laws such as Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA), etc. I would check federal statutes in the United States Code (U.S.C.) and the United States Code Annotated (U.S.C.A.), which I could find in local libraries, law libraries, or law offices. I would check on federal regulations, executive orders, and case law to be sure I was not violating any employment laws. Next, I would investigate State and local employment laws. I would also try to investigate any pertinent court cases at the state circuit court, appeals court, and Supreme Court levels as well as the federal court levels that correspond. In reality as a business owner (which I am) and as a manager in a fortune 500 company (which I am), I would just fire the individual and let the legal and HR
