Transportation revolution- Stimulated economic growth by expanding the range of travel and reducing the cost of moving goods and people. 3. Seneca Falls convention- Held in New York, the first convention for womens equal rights. 4. Empresarios- Agents who received land grants from Mex. Or Spain in return for organizing settlements. 5. Popular Sovereignty- territorial residents not Congress would decide slaverys fate. 6. Fugitive slave act- Required authorities in the north to assist southern slave catchers and return runaway slaves to their owners. 7. Lincoln-Douglas Debates- Series of debates in the Illinois senatorial campaign where Lincoln and Douglas staked their differences on slavery. 8. New York draft riot- Irish-immigrant protest against conscription, escalated into class and racial warfare. Had to be stopped by federal troops. 9. Emancipation Proclamation- Decree announced by Lincoln freeing slaves in all confederate states still in rebellion. 10.
