Krystal Balleza Professor Tamarkin THEA 2040 February 21 st , 2016 Lessing’s Hamburg Dramaturgy collection of short essays is signified as one of the first continual critical engagements with the prospective of theater as a channel for the advancement of cultural philosophies. “The misfortunes of those whose circumstances most resemble our own, must naturally penetrate most deeply into our hearts...” Theatre is significant to everyone because everything said and done on stage affects us straight to the heart; aiding those in the audience to say and acknowledge things that we may not know how to say or acknowledge ourselves. Theatre is a therapeutic method. Theatre isn’t serving as a healing process just for actors, but as a healing process for those in the audience as well. I have so much admiration for actors who relate to their character’s misfortunes, I notice the actors’ sincerity, affecting me and the audience more. It’s
