Introduction Gibberellic acid is a plant hormone that stimulates growth of plant cells by stimulating cell division and elongation. Gibberellic acid is also involved in flowering and seed germination. The effects of gibberellic acid are influenced by the amount of light that the plants receive; in full light the effect of the hormone is restrained, while in low light the hormone is very active. In this experiment, two types of pea plants, both normal and dwarf, were treated with gibberellic acid(known hereafter as GA) to see what the effect would be. It is believed that the dwarf plants are short because they simply don’t produce as much GA as normal pea plants. The objective of this experiment was to observe the effects of GA applied to both of the plants, and to note the growth that took place to the plants applied with GA in comparison to those plants left untreated. The experiment is to see whether or not the application of GA allows the dwarf plants to grow at least as tall as, if not taller, than the untreated normal plants. Materials and Methods The plants were first planted on Wednesday, January 9 th , 2008. Four pea plants were planted in four different quadrants in the planting medium. Four seeds were used per quadrant. Each quadrant was marked to tell which plants it contained by using a small wood stick in the corner with a marker indicating with a number of dashes which one it was; i.e. Q1 contained one dash, Q2 two dashes, etc. Q1 contained a normal untreated pea plant, Q2 contained a dwarf
