COM 400.21 6/13/16 Professor Smith Schindler’s List Was he an ethical person? Why or why not? - at first he was just put into a situation - but then he started to go out of his way - his unethical interest at the beginning is what allows him to be ethical if he hadn’t made that money, he couldn’t have saved anyone - he takes responsibility for his actions. he is really humbled by the fact he could’ve saved more people - he was ethical the whole time? maybe he was ethical at the beginning and then as his perspective changed and allowed him to open up - Does it matter is Schindler was ethical? Does it matter for history? How much does intention matter versus not matter? Utilitarian & Post-Modernism Utilitarianism - judging the ethics of your actions based on consequences - quantifying o you are measuring each action - “maximizing the overall happiness” o this differs for each place / time / person o What does happiness mean to you? o you’re giving value to actions and things based on what happiness means to you.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
