Jason Zhang CIS Bible Mr. Simmons 9/29/13 Law Covenant Summary God delivered His chosen people from Egypt to Mount Sinai, and He made the law with His people to provide for their relationship and worship of Yahweh. The Law in the Old Testament is about the covenant. Though we are not expected to follow the law perfectly, we need to read it and appreciate the biblical story. God has different expectations on us in the New Covenant. The Old Covenant was about the covenant with Israelites. The Old Testament is not our Testament. There are still some laws applying to us today, but some not. There are typical two laws: civil and ritual laws, which no longer apply to us. However, there are still renewed laws. The most important one is the ethical law. The year of Jubilee was the law God made for Israelites. Though it was for
