Malinowski's Theory Malinowski’s main contribution to anthropology as a study of human beings in through his developing the notion of “functionalism”.

Functionalism This anthropological approach to studying culture believes that each institution in a society fulfills a definite function in the maintenance of human needs. Example: Institutions such as schools and universities fulfill the societal need for acquiring knowledge.
