Smudge Pots : These are tar oil pots that are place in orange groves to keep oranges warm during frost season. It is problematic in that the gases contribute to pollution in L.A. Disneyland : Today Los Angeles had become a city of simulation, social fantasy embodied in “tourist bubbles” as malls, entertainment districts, and theme parks that do not fit the rest of the city. As Los Angeles focuses more on the tourism and entertainment industry to bolster their future economy, parks such as Disneyland will continue to be built. (Ecology of Fear 392,293) Street Vendors : These are mostly run by Latino immigrants and sell anything from food to goods. There are approx. 1000 street vendors in L.A. though it is illegal everywhere (except Venice beach?). The police enforces policy just by telling them to get off the streets. These vendors usually are passed down from one family generation to the next. Sports Complex : Los Angeles is home to many pro teams and therefore stadiums, for example the Coliseum, Rose Bowl, Staples Center, Dodgers Stadium, etc… Because Los
