In order for BOD results to be valid, it is desirable to maintain a minimum dissolved oxygen concentration at the end of the incubation period of at least 1.0 mg/L. If an industrial wastewater is known to have a COD of 1000 mg/L, recommend a dilution factor for conducting a BOD 5 test (Cooper et al., 2000, 4.2). 150x dilution factor 3. Determine the COD and BOD U of a 100 mg/L solution of carbohydrate (CH2O) (Cooper et al., 2000, 4.5). 107 mg/L 4.
