Scott Whiffen, Peter Romano, Mike Lynn, Robert Herbert, Patrick Vorce, Shao Cheng November 12, 2007 Bruegger’s Bagels One of the key components to expansion is infrastructure. Whether it is staffing, technology, or suppliers, all pieces must be in place to successfully expand. In the case of Bruegger’s Bagel Bakeries, they are in need of an additional commissary. The decisions that need to be made are two-fold, the first being that the company’s management needs to decide on the location of the new commissary. The second issue is how to get the bagels from the new commissary to four of its retail locations. Location, alone, can make or break an investment. If the company were to locate in the ‘wrong area of town’ they could find themselves dealing with a lot more than just having to worry about production and delivery. Some serious factors when considering building the new commissary would be the quality of the neighborhood, the location of their suppliers in relation to the proposed site, the ease of delivery of raw material and transport of the
