QUESTION 1. a) Explain how prioritization in IEEE 802.11 contention resolution procedure is accomplished. b) Explain why virtual carrier sensing is required in IEEE 802.11 in addition to carrier sensing? c) Discuss briefly the routing challenges in WLANs. Are new routing protocols required or can existing routing protocols be used for WLANs? QUESTION 2. RTS/CTS exchange is introduced to provide an efficient medium access for IEEE 802.11 MAC protocol. a) Explain the advantages of this approach.
