Zizhao Huang, MAT343 12:00-1:15PM MATLAB Lab assignment #4 Name: Zizhao Huang ASU ID Number: 1208174808 Class time: Tu & Thur 12;00PM - 1:15PM Lab time: Thur 1:30PM – 2:20PM % Question 1 clf T =[-0.5,0,0.5,-0.5;-1,1,-1,-1]; plot(T(1,:),T(2,:),'linewidth',2) hold on R = [0,1;1,0]; RT = R*T; plot(RT(1,:),RT(2,:),'-r','linewidth',2) title('Example of Reflection') legend('original triangle','Reflect triangle') grid on axis equal hold off % Question 2 clf T = [-0.5, 0, 0.5, -0.5; -1, 1, -1, -1]; plot(T(1, :), T(2, :), 'linewidth' ,2) hold on Q = [cos(pi/4), -sin(pi/4); sin(pi/4), cos(pi/4)]; R = [0, 1; 1 , 0]; RQT = R*Q*T; plot(RQT(1, :),RQT(2, :),'-r','linewidth',2) title('Example of Rotation then Reflexion ') legend('original triangle','modified triangle') grid on axis equal hold off % The results is different with Example 4. Because in the example 4, the triangle is reflected first and then rotated. So the the order of multiply the matrices is QRT. But in the question 2, the triangle is rotated first and then reflected. So the the order of multiply the matrices is RQT. It means the order of the transformations matter.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
