John Hick's  pluralism An historical thesis: “the pressure of the divine Spirit  upon the human spirit” in different times and places.  (510) At their core all the major religions promote  love and  compassion –  and are equally good at “saint  production”. Hick concludes that the similarities are deeper and  more important than the differences.

Where does God fit into the picture? God  is one of many ways of viewing the Ultimate Reality, and  worshiping God is one of many ways of relating oneself to  Ultimate Reality.
