Sharon Yoon 10/20/11 Ms. Bland- Lamoureux LAB # 5: Density GROUP #5 ABSTRACT: 1. Studying chemistry includes not only observing the changes in matter, but also the measuring and acquiring data of these changes. 2. Purpose of this lab was to acquire data of the different densities of various materials. 3. In order to find the density of the soda, 60 mL was measured in a graduated cylinder before pouring the measured liquid into the already measure mass of a 150 ml beaker, which then was calculated with the formula of mass over volume to find that the density of soda was about .987 g/ml through the division of the mass, 67.770 g and the volume, 60.0 ml. In order to find the density of the soda, 60 ml of soda was measured in a graduated cylinder, which then was calculated for the mass by using a triple beam balance in order to use the mass over volume equation to solve for the density. 4. The density of coke was .987, which was higher than diet coke because the sugar used in regular coke contains regular sugar, which has a higher density than the artificial sweeteners, such as aspartame.

What students are saying

• As a current student on this bumpy collegiate pathway, I stumbled upon Course Hero, where I can find study resources for nearly all my courses, get online help from tutors 24/7, and even share my old projects, papers, and lecture notes with other students.

Kiran Temple University Fox School of Business ‘17, Course Hero Intern

• I cannot even describe how much Course Hero helped me this summer. It’s truly become something I can always rely on and help me. In the end, I was not only able to survive summer classes, but I was able to thrive thanks to Course Hero.

Dana University of Pennsylvania ‘17, Course Hero Intern

• The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
