Laboratory VI: Measurements on Balanced 3 Phase Circuits (II) Name: LaRhonda Mabry Lab Partners: Cara Singletary Date: Feb. 27, 2008 Objective: The objective of this lab was to find the measurements of line and phase voltages and currents for balanced delta and Y-connected resistance/ reactance loads Equipment Used: Three phase, 280 volts (rms), 60 Hz supply Wattmeter Analog Voltmeter-Ammeter Dual Bean Oscilloscope Digital Multi-meter Resistance/ Reactance Load Box Variac Autotransformer Single phase, 120 volts (rms), 60 Hz supply (isolated) Procedure: 1. Before starting this lab we were to find the values theoretically of the phase and line voltage, phase and line current, and apparent power of the circuit, seen in Figure 1 , and 2 and find the values that are located in Tables 1 and 2 before coming to lab . 2. To begin this lab we had to take the RLC-100 Load box to get a total resistance of 400 ohms. Then used the multi-meter to confirm the 400 ohm setting. We then set the reactance to 400 ohms, before connecting it in series with the 400 ohms resistance. Then to making sure making sure the reactive part of each of the loads were pointed to lagging, we adjusted the current level to 75 mA in each load box, to make sure they were all in phase with one another. 3.
