Unformatted text preview: Service Learning I participated in the Fast Forward Youth Program (FFYP) at Monticello High School for my Service Learning Project. FFYP serves students who are underserved and underrepresented in schools, such as low-income and minority students. I worked with students in grades 10-12 once a week for about 2 hours. I helped the students with their homework, college applications, college searches, practice ACT tests, and goal-setting. I chose this program for my Service Learning Project because I want to be a high school teacher, and I knew this would be a good opportunity to gain experience working with high school students. SEP 3: Diverse Learners In FFYP I work with mostly minority students. Through this experience I learned that their diverse backgrounds affect the ways they learn. They also have different values and experiences because of their diversity.
