Color goes to shorter wl. Planck said nrg could be emitted/absorbed in chicks called quanta. Each quantum had nrg proportional to frequency of radiation E = hv E- nrg of radiation, v – freq, h – Planck’s constant (6.626 x 10^-34 Js) nrg can be absorbed or emitted as whole # multiples Photoelectric effect- when light of high enough freq is shined on a metal plate, current is produced. Light transfers nrg to electrons at metal surfacewhich are then captured by a positive electrode. Min freq to produce current = threshold current (dependent on metal used). Einstein said light was made up of small bundles of electromagnetic radiation,
