Expos 20 – Notes on Unit 1 Essay Grading 27/02/2008 11:16:00 Half of our sentences at this point should be based on models, and eventually all  of our sentences should be consciously crafter Pure evaluation = C- Misrepresenting Arac and evaluation = fail Linking interrelated big ideas to build towards a conclusion, being engaged, etc =  higher pass Use strong first sentences in paragraphs! Use sentence models! Next unit: using 2 texts together in the service of an argument, without falling into the  formulaic C- compare/contrast trap Using Saint-Amour ideas: “hegemony forgets its origins”; Arac offers counter-discourse; danger of  countering is that you have to reiterate and use its language, thus potentially  reinforcing the ideas ‘originality vs culturality’; ‘valorization and selective memory’; changing  vocabulary

As a current student on this bumpy collegiate pathway, I stumbled upon Course Hero, where I can find study resources for nearly all my courses, get online help from tutors 24/7, and even share my old projects, papers, and lecture notes with other students.

I cannot even describe how much Course Hero helped me this summer. It’s truly become something I can always rely on and help me. In the end, I was not only able to survive summer classes, but I was able to thrive thanks to Course Hero.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
