Eubanks 1 Bailey Eubanks English 1304 Mr. Reiter February 19, 2008 Seeing Double: Both Sides of the S ituation What is cloning? The dictionary affirms that it is a “cell product, or organism that is genetically identical to the unit or individual from whom it was derived.” This concept of cloning by itself is an intriguing idea. Having an identical person both in the physical sense and the mental is an idea hard for some to comprehend. Even though the first successful human clone could not come for some time now, it is a monumental step for mankind. But as a famous line from Spiderman says, “with great power comes great responsibility.” Where this issue already raises many concerns within the public spectrum, it needs to be monitored with the utmost care. On the other hand, benefits could come from this innovation of technology, including; medical, social and physical tribulations. Nevertheless, to say who is right is still an uncertainty and can only be deciphered by time. Morality apprehensions are a major issue on the topic of cloning, while opposing that argument is the proposal that cloning could have a radical effect on
