NAME _____________________________________ WSU ART 110: EXPERIENCING ART FALL 2006 STUDIO PROJECT SELF-PORTRAIT (Stage 2) The second stage of the studio project will allow you to incorporate the art elements (line, shape, value, texture and space) with your initial large self-portrait drawing. 1) You will begin with the 18 x 24 in. drawing that you submitted for stage 1 (A.6). 2) You will probably want to eliminate some or all of the grid. a. If you leave some of the grid, consider allowing it to break up the overall drawing into a pattern that does not follow such obvious borders as those between hair and face, head and background, etc. b. If you eliminate all of the grid, it is especially important that the remaining shapes are sufficiently varied. If the background is “empty”, or your face has lots of “blank” areas, you will need to go back and find more lines and shapes. 3) You are now to complete your drawing by using the following: a.
