The Chipmunk Effect What causes the change in pitch when Helium (Nitrogen, Chlorine, Oxygen, Sulfur hexa-fluoride. ..) is used in speech instead of dry air? Because frequency and resonance does not change, I found that the wavelengths change when other gasses are used in speech.
