He describes to the readers the distance to the beach and the scenery around the store. Sammy also goes into detail about the impending disappointment from his parents upon them learning he resigned from his job.This tells us just how big of a gesture he makes when he hands in his apron and bow tie. 2.The normal A&P customers are described as sheep being herded from aisle to aisle in a monotone fashion.
