Jody Baker Medical Interventions Final Diagnosis 5B-6B September 05, 2013 A local student named Sue Smith recently came to the infirmary complaining of an unending headache and extreme lethargy. She also had a temperature of 100.6°F. Not long after, six other students came in complaining of various things. Jill, who is both Sue’s roommate and teammate, feel and sore all over. She also has a slight fever at 99.7°F, but she claims to have a naturally high body temperature. She also smokes on occasion, but she is trying to quite. Anthony is a school reporter who has repeatedly covered and been to the soccer matches that Sue and Jill play in. He is a dry cough, feels lethargic, feels achy, his sinus issues, and has had a near constant fever over the past few days of 100°F. He has taken cold medicine that relieved some of the symptoms temporarily. Wanda has had a fever for a few days, has swollen glands in her neck, and a sore throat. She is in the same sorority as Jill and they attend many events together. Her boyfriend, Ray, is complaining of the same symptoms, but refuses to visit the infirmary. Maggie has a scratchy throat that has worsened and she has both cold chills and hot flashes. She lives on the same floor as Sue and Jill and they are frequently in the same area, but not in close proximity. Maria, who frequently visits and eats with Sue and Jill in their room, has felt lethargic and has a fever of about 103°F. Finally, Arnie, who is a friend and neighbor of Anthony, has been coughing and has had a runny nose all week. It was particularly bad one night when he could not stop and he has a fever of 100.5°F.
