ART 1050, Section 03: Basic Digital Photography Instructor : Garrett Davis Email : gdavisphoto@gmail.com Course Time : TR, 8:30am-9:50am, Centrum 229 Office Hours : Mondays 10am-12pm at The Grind on Main Street in Cedar City Textbooks : -Real World Digital Photography, 2 nd Edition, by Katrin Eismann, Sean Duggan, and Tim Grey -Any photography magazines (optional) Course Description : This course will give you a basic understanding of digital photography and, more importantly, what makes a great photograph. You will learn the basic functions of a digital SLR (Single Lens Reflex) camera and how to effectively use those functions to make photographs. You will also learn basic editing skills and digital output from a computer. By the end of this course you will be able to execute the entire evolution of a photograph, from pushing the button to framing it on your wall. Course Objectives : Understand basic digital camera operations (shutter, aperture, lenses, etc.) Basic understanding of Photoshop CS2 and the digital darkroom
