Leveling the economic gap is a choice. In recent discussions on “How do we solve EconomicDisparity and injustice?” a controversial issue has been the differences in how we solve it. Thegovernment has ways in which they can help level the economic gap. Policy choices need to bemade in favor of all citizens and not just the rich. Lessening the economic gap should be an issuewe all are informed about. It affects our families and future generations.According to the article written by Sharon Zhang, “Covid 19 relief programs prove that povertyis a policy choice(Zhang, S.,2022).” The stimulus packages and unemployment supplementprove that government policy was crucial in leveling the income gap during the pandemic.Sharon Zhang holds a Ph.D., B.A., and an M.A, in Environmental Health and science. She is ajournalist for Truthout, (a nonprofit news organization that focuses on social injustice issues).
