November 09, 2007 Aggression. o Definition. Aggression is behavior that is intended to injure another  person (physically or verbally) and to destroy property.  o Freud. Aggression is a drive. Frustration Aggression Drive.  When person is frustrated with expression of sexual instinct, aggression will arise. o Social influence. Instinctive patterns of aggression are modulated by cortex. Example. Stimulation of hypothalamus of high-ranking male  monkeys leads to attacking of other males but not  females; low-ranking monkeys show submissive  behaviors when stimulated. Social context is very important in expression of aggression. Frustration   Aggression drive   Aggressive behavior. Frustration   Emotional arousal anticipated consequences   of behavior   Dependency achievement. o Withdrawal. Aggression.
