I. Company Description 1. Introduction Cornell Women’s Lacrosse, originally formed in 1972, is a Cornell University athletics team. Enrolled in the NCAA as a division one team, the Big Red competes against some of the best college teams across the country. However, he most important competitions for the team include games with other Ivy League teams. Cornell has never won the Ivy League championship, but has proven to be a strong contender. The main goals of the organization are to win the love and loyalty of their current fans as well as attract more fans to their games. To fill the Scheollkopf Stadium for their home games is the team’s first and foremost objective. The product they deliver to their fans is entertainment for the duration of the games and the season. As the BCG matrix above illustrates the fundraiser events of the Lacrosse team are the “problem child” of the organization, since they do not produce higher fan attendance and do not have much room for improvement.
