Speech Contest Report First I would like to point out that all of the speakers did an amazing job and should be congratulated on their hard work and effort. Their level of professionalism as well as their great memorizing skills shocked me. I believe that the rankings of the six speakers reached by the panel of judges in the speaking contest were very well thought out and I agree with them completely. Lets start off with the bottom three speeches. The topics of which included Wikipedia, Iraq, as well as nursing homes. When it came to originality, these speakers all had somewhat original topics, however not original or interesting enough as to justify higher points than any of the top three speeches. The first speaker knew a lot about the nursing home and used his previous experience to his advantage. He was enthusiastic and seemed dedicated. The next speaker had an innovative approach on the Wikipedia topic and made it very interesting. And the speech on Iraq came across as very taseless and not well planned. It lacked originality and the delivery needed much more work.
