Gilbert NICOLAON Born May 1 st 1940 in Paris (France), Gilbert Nicolaon holds a Chemical engineering degree (~ M. Sc) and a doctorate in Physical chemistry (Ph. D) from University of Lyon (1968). His professional activity is approximately 1/3 scientific research, 1/3 scientific diplomacy and 1/3 innovation engineering and technology transfer. Very internationally minded he spent 12 years in United States, 2 years in United Kingdom and consulted in various countries, for example in India, where he has been a World Bank expert on a technology development program, and in several Eastern European countries. After 12 years in academic (University of Lyon, France, and Clarkson Institute of Technology Potsdam, New York)) and industrial (Alsthom-Exxon Fuel cell venture), research, both in France and in USA he joined the diplomatic services as a Scientific Attaché to the French Embassy in United States in Houston (1976-79), Chicago (1979-82) and New-York(1982-85). In 1985 he joined Anvar (The French innovation agency) and held different positions
