Ninety-nine names in Quran help us to understand God’s nature 94 positive traits, 5 negative traits (anger or retribution) Human beings: God’s greatest creation God created the intellect first of all things God’s universal nature is emphasized Quran emphasizes certain ideal characteristics: kindness to the poor, boasting and false pride are condemned. But if humans err, and if they are sincere in repentance. “God forgives those who repent.” (Surah 17:25) For Muslims, there is no clash between modern science and the Quran; it accommodates Darwin and new theories in science. Belief in Angels Angels existed before humans and are made of light. Jinn are invisible beings wimilar to humans, made of fire (humans are made of clay). Jinns include the righteous and the evil, the devil, who refused God’s commandment to bow down to Adam. The devil is Iblis – not clear whether the iblis is and angel or a jinn. Heaven and Hell
