Venables LA 140: THE SYMBOLS OF NEW YORK STATE’S CULTURAL LANDSCAPE Spring 2007 Course Faculty: William Cowdery, Ph.D. (Department of Music, Cornell); Linda Rosekrans, M.A. (English Department, SUNY-Cortland and the course coordinator for this course); and Robert W. Venables, Ph.D. Guest Lecturers: Professor Sherene Baugher, Director of the Cornell Archaeology Program and guest speaker on New York City history; Major Byron Breese (USAF Retired), artist and guest speaker on the art of Jackson Pollock; Lydia Hecht, guest lecturer on seven generations in the Finger Lakes; and Professor Dan Krall, historian and guest speaker on Frederick Law Olmsted.
