CLASS WORK Class work This part of your grade is based on attendance, the quality and quantity of your individual participation and preparation, and your progress in oral and listening skills. Language learning involves skill development as well as information; therefore, you must be in class to use the language! Attendance, preparation, and participation contribute to your learning and are important factors in determining your grade. Individualized work mostly takes place outside of the classroom and you should take responsibility for studying in the ways and the amount you need to. People learn in many ways, so we have a variety of activities and exercises. Some of them may be more helpful to you than others but the important thing is to concentrate on all skills: Listening, Reading, Writing, Speaking and using Spanish in culturally appropriate ways. Ask your instructor for advice on language learning. Several times in the semester the teacher will collect a self-rating form that you print from the web page. You analyze your own progress and the teacher indicates his/her opinion as well. This is to guide your understanding of the quality and quantity of your own class work. Before midterm the remainder of the syllabus will be posted on the web site with the list of daily
