Research Methods for Business and Management 2 The Implications of the Internet Society on Management Practices within Organizations 1. Introduction Companies have in the past widely used social network tools to screen current and potential employees and for recruitment of potential employees. Social media has been used to solicit responses from the public. The use of internet has however affected the ways through which organizational managements conduct their duties. The internet has proven effective in changing the ways in doing business. It has been considered as an effective tool for the success of management. The internet and the emerging internet society have become pervasive within organizations 1 . In future, many businesses will be using the internet in one way or another. Organizational managers engage with the internet in a variety of ways. Many of them rely on the internet for daily practices and routines, and it influences the managerial practices of organizational management. The internet should be considered as part of the company’s long- term marketing strategy. 2. Literature Review According to Castells (2015), organizational managers engage in internet practices through a variety of means. The internet society has greatly affected management practices in organizations. The success of many businesses in the 21 set century is attributed to these of the internet. Business can minimize costs while increasing sales through the internet. After all, many scholars like Dahlberg (2005) believe that this is an important aspect that led to the popularity of the internet society. Some of the changes that have arises from the internet can be seen in how we purchase goods and services. The online environment will make it easier to determine prices from many sellers. Snottily, the customer can easily find their referees. It is emotive that businesses use the nineteen. Many scholars like Kidwell-Ross (2012) have looked at the impact of the internet. For the management to be successful in the internet age, they need to learn now rules of business while still applying the old basic principles of business 2 . The management relies on the internet or social media use. It acts as an opportunity to interact with other like-minded individuals in similar business fields. Moreover, the increase in speeds of co-operation means that the internet is the best avenue for social media use 3 . In this regard, the management can learn about their staff through such media.
