Discuss some of the similarities and differences between the various feminist theorists addressed in the course. How do these theorists help us to understand the changes taking place in the Central Himalaya mountains as discussed in Manjari Mehta’s article “Our Lives Are No Different From That of Our Buffaloes”? Introduction: Feminist Theory is a generalized, wide-ranging system of ideas about social life and human experience developed from a woman-centered perspective. Within feminist theory it is accepted that gender itself are socially constructed male and female roles, relations, and identities. There are 4 main subtypes of feminist theory: Gender Difference, Gender Inequality, Gender Oppression, and Structural Oppression. 1 st paragraph: Gender Difference and Gender Inequality, similar to each other Gender difference theorists, who take a woman’s centered perspective in looking at their experiences in social situations, claim women have a different experience than man in these situations. Similarly, gender inequality theorists claim that these women are also experiencing different situations than men. The
